"and I'm still standing," well just about! Thank you all for your ongoing support, it's has been invaluable and most of all the escape plans have kept my spirits up. After three admissions within 3 weeks, I don't want to speak to early and hoping that this time round I can manage to stay out of hospital for more than a week!. After the 11 day stint in hospital with my feet and hands, I thought I was on the mend and was looking forward to being at home again, but low and behold - trust me to get something else! After my experience with the Humira I was convinced that it was the Enbrel that was causing me to be so ill. Well, it seems there is no clear verdict: a couple of doctors seem to think it might have been Enbrel related, however, others have stated that I have had a kidney infection and E coli sepis, which was made worse by taking the Enbrel. Suffice it to say I am still confused, but would prefer the latter, as at least I would have the option of trying Enbrel again, which will also treat the psoriasis and RA flares that have also returned now that I am completely run down. LOL, you've got to laugh I say to myself as there is nothing more I can do other than to remain positive and patient, and to get on with life whatever it throws at me. The carers are visiting twice a day and are saints, they have to be to put up with funny old me and my quirky habits "just a little bit more cream please on my feet, and can I have my smoothie now." Currently feel like royalty and it's all because........ "I am worth it!" LOL. As you can guess I am having a good day, feel optimistic about my future and thinking about planning my trip to India this winter to an Ayurveda retreat in Kerala. Please send out the positive vibes and keep fingers crossed (those who can) so that I can at least return to some form of acceptable healthy well-being, just enough so that I can realise my plans. much love, Barbara XXXXXX

Hiya Barbara It's nice to have some good news, I'm so pleased that you're back home and I really do hope that they can sort an effective treatment for you soon and that you'll be jetting off to India. Positive beams on max and what I can still cross is crossed for you (though as it's my eyes it makes the typing awkward) Take care HUGS Jo. 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo

Brilliant to hear you are home Barbara. I hope you've had your share of infections for now and glad to hear you are getting some care at home. How are your hands and feet after all this - any improvement? I just hope you are more comfortable now you are home. Take care.

Dear Barbara,
I am so glad that you are home and receiving some help. It is a relief to hear that the Embrel may not be the cause of your latest problem and that it may well be tried again. Hope that your hands and feet are improving.
Take care of yourself, relax and allow the carers to attend to your needs. India will be there when you are better and fit enough to travel.
Lots of love and hugs,
Eleanor x
